The article focuses on the works of Vladimir Putin, President of Russia which led to failure of the Soviet Union. As mentioned, Putin increased his control over elections because of which people were unable to express their intentions freely. He encouraged nationalism and xenophobia in the country. It further discusses his plan of recreating the Eurasian Economic Union for competing with the European Union.
