ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses the assumptions made in a computer model related to renewable energy in South Africa and how these actually differed from reality where nuclear power proves to be more economical. According to him, the model ignores the fact that wind energy has less value than nuclear energy and that nuclear plants can be built faster than wind power plants. He also opines that nuclear energy is a more reliable source of baseload electricity.
