Presents the opinions of the author about chief executive officers' (CEO) insenstivity to the appearance of entitlement in their excessive pay packages. Belief that the scandal of CEO pay is that few CEOs have publicly raised their voices in criticism and rebuke of stratospheric pay levels; Amount of money that the top five executives of the largest 1,5000 U.S. companies made in stock-option profits from 1992 to 2001; Opinion that American Airlines suffered from insensitivity to appearances when it was disclosed that its top executives had received special pension protections while other employees took pay cuts; Possibility that CEO bashing is scapegoating; Comments about the CEO assertion that their compensation is what the market dictates.
