ABSTRACT
The article focuses on how the United States federal government is forcing landowners to spend millions of dollars to protect an endangered bug called Dehli sands fly. This policy of the federal government is based on the Endangered Species Act (ESA), a legislation signed into law in 1973 by President Richard Nixon. As of now, ESA protects 33 species of insect that are considered to be endangered of extinction. It contends that ESA has negative impact of the country's economy. It questions the wisdom of protection species that are endangered of extinction.
