Discusses how a long-standing dispute between the United States and the European Union (EU) over audiovisual regulations may affect Former Soviet Republic, Latvia's effort to join the World Trade Organization (WTO). The problem with Lativa's effort to also join the EU which it insists on adhering to EU positions on the dispute; How, if Latvia accedes, the US has pledged to block its entry into the WTO.
