ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which estimated influenza vaccine coverage and its efficiency against medically attended laboratory-confirmed influenza for the 2012 season. Patients were recruited to a test-negative design as part of the Australian Sentinel Practices Research Network. Results suggested that vaccination against influenza proved to be modestly protective as it had reduced the risk of medical presentation with influenza by around 23%
