ABSTRACT
Wind power is an application form of solar energy, with the renewable and clean characteristics, but wind power projects also have the shortcomings, such as the vast investment amounts, the long capital recovery cycle and the high risk. So the wind power project evaluating is a complicated, multi-index decision-making problem. To evaluate the wind power projects scientifically, the author proposed a novel spatial clustering method based on tree-structured growing self-organizing maps (TGSOM) network and spatial data mining (SDM). The model could not only fill the gaps of traditional SDM, but also overcome the restriction of traditional maps. We took 11 wind power projects as samples to evaluate, and the evaluating results showed that the SDM method were effective and feasible.
