ABSTRACT
The article explores the association between the environmental crisis and consumption patterns in the Western and Westernized countries. Topics discussed include a suggestion on how to address the inadequacy of environmental education strategies for dealing with malconsumption and a proposal that permaculture practice can open up opportunities in environmental education.
