Chapter six of the book "As Seen in Vogue: A Century of American Fashion in Advertising" is presented. It discusses the development of American fashion in advertising in the nineteen-eighties. During the administration of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, the upper-income class was enriched through policies such as tax cuts, deregulation and heavy deficit spending. Fashion designers were inspired by the new images of wealth and glamour in the period.
