ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 of the book "Forms in Modernism: The Unity of Typography, Architecture & the Design Arts 1920s-1970s" is presented. The main focus of the chapter is the new approach to modernism which was influenced by the human hand. Designs of buildings, tables and printed pages were inspired by natural forms such as landscape and plant life. Some typefaces in the early 1950s resemble casual handwriting because advertiser want to send out personal messages to readers. Designers at that time were no limited to squares, triangles and circles.
