Chapter 1 of Part III of the book "OECD Journal on Development: Trading Out of Poverty: How Aid for Trade Can Help" is presented. The chapter offers an overview of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Secretariat report on the effectiveness of Australian economic aid to alleviate poverty and achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
