ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 the book "State Terrorism and the United States: From Counterinsurgency to the War on Terrorism" is presented. The chapter focuses on terrorism as it subsequently played out in Chile. It draws findings from a truth commission's report on the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The role played by the dictatorship in a campaign of a physical and psychological nature against government enemies is noted. The U.S. is cited for providing military training to Pinochet's forces.
