ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the significance of the takeover of Slovenia of the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU). It states that the country is to be thrust into the center of many of the bloc's most pressing political and geopolitical questions. It adds that from the accession prospects of the Western Balkan states, the Slovenian government is going to have to tread carefully to stay on good terms with all of its European partners.
