ABSTRACT
The authors examine the prevalence, diagnosis, treatment and social impact of sexually transmitted infections (STI). They discuss the annual worldwide incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), as well as the results of a study of the prevalence of such diseases in Pakistan. They also describe the benefits of applying a syndromic approach in diagnosing STI.
