ABSTRACT
This article reflects on the author's interview with Marwan Barghouti, a convicted terrorist campaigning for the Palestinian elections from his jail cell in Tel-Aviv. Barghouti is seen as the only one who can replace former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and topped the list for Fatah, Arafat's old faction. Barghouti spent three years in solitary confinement before living with 118 other Palestinians. In 2001, he was a Ramallah street leader.
