The article discusses the significance of the nuclear power plants to the people in the U.S. The U.S. Department of Energy found out that only nuclear power plants can provide the amount of energy that is needed for a long-term solution to dependence on foreign energy supplies. The U.S. has initiated the developments of Generation IV nuclear power plant reactors that would maintain and control a nuclear reaction, for the safety production of energy. Sodium Fast Reactor is one example of Generation IV.
