ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the issuance of the journal which talks about indigenous languages and bilingualism. According to him, indigenous language is the vernacular spoken by people with a unique historical tie to a given region or territory. To elaborate on the topic, a selection of studies that report on research related to bilingualism among speakers of indigenous languages were gathered and presented. Moreover, researches about language use and competence are likewise tackled for the reader's sake.
