It tolls for us

Mecklin, John
April 2007
High Country News;4/2/2007, Vol. 39 Issue 6, p2
The author reflects on the government's lack of policy implementation for the safety of workers at drilling companies in the U.S. According to the author, despite the number of oil and gas workers killed in and around drill rigs, the government seemed to be negligent of regulating companies for worker's safety and security. He pointed that in the rush for oil and gas riches, the old equipment and exhausting work schedules so often cause accidents and never seem to get changed.
