ABSTRACT
The article comments on the accomplishments of Eliot Spitzer, governor of the state of New York. Spitzer persuaded the legislative leaders to sign off on an overhaul of state ethics, and convinced both political parties to keep dangerous sex offenders confined to state mental hospitals after their prison terms expired. He also helped break a logjam on workers' compensation reform.
