ABSTRACT
The author offers views on the strange coincidence that the world is running out of oil just as discarding oil as an energy source has become a global imperative. He believes that the end of cheap and abundant oil offers no easy relief from the perils of global warming, even as it threatens major social disruption and that diminishing oil supplies will lead to price increases with chaotic effects around the world.
