ABSTRACT
The author discusses the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran. He suggests that the NIE, which reports that Iran abandoned its nuclear program, is misleading and was designed to disrupt policies of U.S. President George W. Bush. He suggests the NIE will prevent the success of economic sanctions or military action against Iran and the NIE's authors accepted assurances by the Iranian government that nuclear facilities were not being used for the creation of nuclear weapons.
