ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's views on how the U.S. Army is addressing the war against Islamism. According to him, the army should modify its thinking based on the evolution of warfare, from Napoleonic battles to counterinsurgency. The author opines that the Clausewitz method, which involves hitting the enemy's center of gravity, should be discarded because the terrorists don't have one. Instead, he says, the Army;s new counterinsurgency FM 3-24 manual should be used to address terrorism.
