ABSTRACT
The author attempts to explore on the evolvement of Somali piracy in the Gulf of Aden. The author considers the gulf as a maritime danger zone due to piracy, where there are 15 merchant ships have been highjacked by Somali pirates. In addition, the author cites the possibilities of the occurrence of piracy including the involvement of the cargo owners to the said outlawed organization in order to get the insurance payments, and the targeting of merchant ships through inside knowledge.
