ABSTRACT
The author stresses that the economic stimulus bill of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is a temporary measure. He predicts that the spending increases and tax cuts proposed in the bill will be ineffective in achieving economic recovery. He believes that the bill will not guarantee the rise of employment rate or increase investments unless interest rate is hiked. He contends that the economy could be revived by new sources of productive demand and reduction of oversaving and reliance on exports.
