ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the capacity of Ralph Scozzafava, CEO of Furniture Brands International Inc. (FBI) to run the home furnishings business. He argues that Scozzafava is not competitive in the furniture industry. However, he believes that because of Scozzafava solid understanding of brands and consumer research, he has an advantage. He also claims that Scozzafava has contributed to the FBI's profitability.
