ABSTRACT
The author reflects on U.S. laws regarding teaching of creationism in U.S. schools. Topics discussed include U.S. Supreme court decision in the case Edwards v. Aguillard invalidating a Louisiana law that required schools to balance evolution and creationism in science classes, effort of religious fundamentalists to endorse creationism under different names, and reasons for rejecting creationism from public school science curricula. Teaching of evolution in U.S. colleges is also discussed.
