The article discusses academic theology in Romania since the fall of communism, focusing on the influence of the Orthodox Church. It provides an overview of Romania's higher education system and various religious faculties, including Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and Greek-rite Catholic (Uniate) ones. Other topics include religious instruction in primary and secondary schools and the roles of church leaders as deans of theology faculties. Double specializations in universities are also examined.
