ABSTRACT
This article presents an interview with the author, deputy commander of U.S. Central Command, about the importance of soldiers in the battlefield in 2025. By 2025, a soldier will have far more information. He'll be connected electronically to all the members of his squad or platoon. He'll see what the others are looking at without talking; they'll know what their targets are doing without necessarily seeing them. He thinks that the kind of war which is being fought right now is that the enemy sits back and says, if one wants to defeat a superpower, then the best way to do that is to try and take away their will to fight.
