Obama Fiddles While Wall Street Burns

Babbin, Jed
March 2009
Human Events;3/16/2009, Vol. 65 Issue 10, p7
The author criticizes the inaction of U.S. President Barack Obama to help the securities industry. He notes that Obama introduced his $3.5 trillion budget on cap and trade emissions tax as the Dow Jones fell by 20% in March 2009 while unemployment rose by 8%. He adds that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi changes rules to shift the responsibility for huge tax increases and earmarks to members from Democrats and Obama. He stresses that it is not the healthcare, education or energy which Obama are concentrating on is the root of the economic decline.
