ABSTRACT
Information about several issues discussed at the West 2007 conference which was held in San Diego, California, on January 31, 2007 is presented. The conference focused on the challenges facing the U.S. military. Former New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani endorsed U.S. President George W. Bush's plan for a 21,500 troop surge in Iraq. It is stated that other speakers and panelists reinforced the need to continue the military campaign in Iraq and the war on global terrorism.
