ABSTRACT
A definition of the term "indifferent" is presented. Indifferent means neutral or tending in no specific direction; not responsive to normal stimuli or apathetic; or cells that have not differentiated. The term originated from the Latin words "in-" which means not, and "differre" which means to differ. The definition is from the "Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary," published by F.A. Davis Co.
