ABSTRACT
As of March 31, 2000, the total amount of money in circulation in the United States came to $562,949,257,157. More than 25 billion dollars was in coins, the rest in paper money. The number of bills of each kind in circulation include 604,748,958 one dollar bills, 604,748,958 two dollar bills, and 1,600,787,162 five dollar bills.
